Write a letter to newspapers, magazines

image7511If you’re a letter-writer, you can educate the media about American refugees.

Here’s a sample idea:

“Dear Editor,

Did you know that over 400 Americans fled the US to apply for asylum abroad in 2006? Did you know that the number of Americans seeking asylum sharply increased during the Bush Administration? Do you know that hundreds of Americans are now stranded in asylum systems overseas?

You can view statistics and get more information at refugeesfromtheusa.org.

[Your name here]”

  • Send to newspapers that do good political reporting
  •  Send to your favorite magazines; especially those that feature social justice issues.

Help re-write history!
